The ICRC helps train senior military officers in the law as well as troops who may be sent abroad in the framework of peace-keeping missions. It also encourages incorporating the relevant rules into military manuals and training programmes. The ICRC is also working closely with the Libyan Red Crescent, particularly in the realms of restoring family links for people separated from their loved ones by armed conflict and other violence, and making humanitarian law and Red Cross / Red Crescent principles better known. 1-2-2009 ICRC activities in Tunisia, Mauritania, Libya and Morocco in 2008The ICRC visited detainees in Mauritania and Tunisia and helped restore links between family members separated by armed conflict.
