The ICRC in Afghanistan recently helped Suliman, a young boy from Helmand province, reunite with his father after a long separation.
In collaboration with the members of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the ICRC looks for family members who have been separated by conflict, disasters and migration, and helps reunite them. In 2014, the ICRC in Afghanistan received 244 similar tracing requests from family members looking for their relatives in Afghanistan.
