Democratic People's Republic of Korea: Water supply and habitat projects

Since 2013, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been working on water supply in peri-urban areas.

Launched in different years, the four ongoing projects mainly involve construction with locally available materials and are in different phases of completion. Once finished, they will benefit about 123,750 inhabitants, ensuring they have sustainable access to clean water. Renovations at two local hospitals and two physical rehabilitation centres will enable the public facilities to run more effectively and provide people with up-to-standard infrastructure and services.
