In recent years, a wide array of new technologies have entered the modern battlefield, giving rise to new means and methods of warfare, such as cyber attacks, armed drones and robots, including autonomous weapons. With a view to contributing to the debates on the impact of these new technologies on humanitarian law and policy, the ICRC hosted a Research and Debate Cycle focusing on "New Technologies and the Modern Battlespace".
