Sudan: Facts & figures for 2019

The ICRC has been present in Sudan since 1978 helping people affected by the conflict in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan, and promoting International Humanitarian Law.

In 2019, the ICRC provided seeds, tools and food to people in Tawila in North Darfur, Jebel Mara in South Darfur, and Rokero and Golo in Central Darfur. Our teams also vaccinated thousands of animals in Dar Al-Salam Umbaru and Kornoi in North Darfur and Garsila Nertiti in Central Darfur.

Highlights of our work in Sudan in 2019.

138,000 people received seeds, tools and food
325,800 animals were vaccinated
6,600 pupils received school kits
120,800 people benefited from emergency medical supplies
10,800 phone calls were made to reunite separated families
