P, Private archives, 1859-1991, 20 metres of shelf space

The private archives, with index number P, comprise private archives deposited by a variety of sources, especially formally delegates, which pertain to ICRC activities.

Detailed inventories (see below) have been made of most of these archives, apart from those relating to the Committee for the relief of the wounded of the Italian army (1859-1862) and the First World War. The archives of the International Relief Union make up the largest set of material in the P collection.
