Our ICRC online community guidelines

As part of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is committed to be accessible to the public and to fostering constructive and respectful exchanges across our digital platforms to ensure transparency, accountability and mutual learning as much as possible. We welcome diverse perspectives and ask all users to share their own in a respectful manner. The ICRC does not verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content on digital platforms and does not endorse such content, including from individuals or profiles that claim to represent or be affiliated with the ICRC.

On our channels, we prohibit any content that is obscene, defamatory, vulgar, libelous, threatening, harassing, or hateful. To maintain a respectful environment, we may monitor, hide, or remove comments that violate these rules or are otherwise offensive, misleading, or inappropriate. Fake and abusive website pages and scams using the ICRC’s identity or emblem may be reported through available channels, and legal action may be taken as needed. As a reminder, the misuse of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, or Red Crystal emblems are prohibited by law and may result in legal action and sanctions. By upholding these standards, we aim to create and protect a space for meaningful and respectful exchanges and count on your support to contribute accordingly.
