The Assembly Council

The Assembly Council supports the Assembly in its tasks and ensures the smooth functioning of the ICRC, communicating regularly with the Directorate.

Responsibilities and tasks

The Assembly Council is a subsidiary body of the Assembly. It ensures the smooth functioning of the ICRC, in particular as regards human resources and financial management. It prepares the Assembly's discussions on financial matters, particularly those requiring the Assembly's approval with regard to changes in the financial reserves, ICRC funds and foundations, and budgets. It approves budget extensions. The Assembly Council may carry out any of the Assembly's duties in situations requiring an urgent decision

Membership

The Council is composed of five to seven Assembly members (see Internal Regulations, Articles 21 to 25)
