Over the past fifty years, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been able to bring about a difference in many people's lives through its activities and programmes. The ICRC has visited detainees, re-united families, supported livelihoods, and saved lives.
Above all, the ICRC has stood up for people and promoted their rights and dignity. The ICRC's assistance activities in the occupied territories constitute the most significant and longest operation it has run.
