ICRC’s head of operations for East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Alain Aeschlimann, toured the Pacific earlier this month visiting Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand for meetings with government officials, national societies and academics. In this interview with the Australia Mission, Mr Aeschlimann shares some perspectives from his visit to the region, discussing topics such as Australia's global humanitarian efforts and the ICRC's ongoing response to tribal violence in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.
