Bangladesh: 12th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition 2021 — National Rounds

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is pleased to invite students from the universities of Bangladesh to register for the 12th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition, Bangladesh National Rounds (2021). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's edition will be held online in an adapted format – through submission of written memorials and a virtual oral hearing with top four teams (ranked by the ICRC basis a combined score of their written memorials) to be held on 15 December 2021.

Participants may register at this link.

The deadline for registration is 7 November 2021 (23:59hrs BD time). For more details about the 2021 round, see the Rules of the Competition and Moot Problem.

The purpose of this annual moot court competition on international humanitarian law (IHL) is to develop an increased awareness of IHL among law students throughout Bangladesh as well as further their advocacy and research skills.

Previously, two top-ranking teams from the national rounds would represent their country in the South Asian regional rounds. Winners of the regional rounds would then represent South Asia in the Red Cross IHL Moot Court Competition in Hong Kong (Asia-Pacific round). However, the regional rounds for South Asia will not be organized this year.

Instead, the winning team (only one) of each national round would directly qualify for the Asia-Pacific round jointly organized by the ICRC and the Hong Kong Red Cross to be held online in March 2022.

The ICRC reserves the right to change the contents of this notice, the rules and all arrangements of the 12th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition.
