Georgia: Facts and figures, January to September 2016

From January to September 2016:

  • 154 ante mortem date questionnaires from the families of missing persons were collected by the ICRC.
  • 75 sets of human remains and body parts from 4 gravesites were recovered in Georgia/Abkhazia and analyzed with ICRC expert forensic assistance
  • 489 mine victim households and 161 families of missing persons were supported with cash grants for their income generating activities.
  • 454 Red Cross Messages were exchanged between separated families.
  • 181 patients living in and around Tshinvali in crossing administrative boundary lines were assisted to obtain medical attention. 149 patients were in need of urgent medical care.
  • 75 visits were conducted in 16 different places of detention in order to assess the living conditions and treatment.
