Somalia: Hundreds of thousands received vital food and medical assistance in 2015
ICRC continued to help the people of Somalia suffering from armed conflict and harsh climate shocks such as drought and floods.
In 2015, we provided aid in the form of health care, clean water, and economic support to those in need. Our teams also visited detainees to monitor their living conditions and treatment, as well as worked tirelessly to reconnect families separated during conflict.
Highlights of our work in Somalia in 2015
630,000 people benefitted from food and non-food emergency distribution. | |

240,000 people received clean water and better sanitation. | |
70,000 reestablished contact with relatives. | |
4,200 detainees reached and their places of detention assessed. |
