Sudan: Providing relief to people affected by conflict

The ICRC and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) continued to provide relief to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence in 2017.

We have increased our field assistance operations following the Sudanese authorities' invitation in 2017. The ICRC and the SRCS conducted needs assessments and launched projects. We continue to work to provide humanitarian assistance and restore dignity for returnees, displaced people and others affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

Restored family links for 5,600 families through phone calls
Repaired 37 hand pumps ensuring safe drinking water for 10,000 internally displaced persons
Provided cash or cash vouchers to 1,260 internally displaced families
