Double stretch: The journey to clearing Zimbabwe’s landmines

Nearly 40 years after the conflict ended, landmines laid along the Zimbabwe's border with Mozambique continue to pose a threat to the lives and livelihoods of rural communities. Since 2012, the ICRC has been assisting the Zimbabwe Mine Action Centre (ZIMAC) to strengthen its capacity to remove landmines in the Crooks Corner to Sango Border Post minefield in the southeastern Zimbabwe. In this video, we look at the challenges faced by deminers and the progress achieved so far.
