These courses will train engineers and technical staff to plan, implement and monitor technical programmes related to Water, Sanitation and Energy, and will help them better understand the organizational context of humanitarian situations. The courses are run jointly by the Water and Habitat Unit of the ICRC and partner universities in the various locations.
Each course consists of 3 phases: a 4–6 week online session to acquire the basics, a 5-6 day face-to-face session to deepen and apply the concepts, and a 2 month assignment period to apply the concepts in a practical case study.

Water & Sanitation Engineering in the Humanitarian Context

This 6-days course aims to equip participants with the skills to implement WASH activities in an emergency situation, including the basics of hydrogeology, water treatment and distribution, basic sanitation and hygiene promotion through community participation.
