Our work in Azerbaijan
In Azerbaijan, the ICRC implements various projects to increase mine risk awareness and safe behaviour, provide life-saving first aid and psychological support to victims and affected communities, help the authorities clarify the fate of people who have gone missing in relation to the conflict, and promote international humanitarian law (IHL). In line with our mandate, we carry out visits to people detained in relation to the conflict in order to monitor their detention conditions and treatment and help them maintain contact with their families. We work to alleviate the hardships faced by the conflict-affected population in coordination with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
