Our work in the Republic of Korea

The ICRC in the Republic of Korea works to promote our role and mandate among the Korean authorities and the public. We engage in discussions with the Republic of Korea on major global humanitarian affairs and policies, and we raise awareness of international humanitarian law in the armed forces and academic circles. We seek to secure political and financial support for our operations worldwide.

Our work with the Republic of Korea National Red Cross

The ICRC and the Republic of Korea National Red Cross cooperate in areas of mutual interest: improving the National Society's response capacity, enhancing the profile of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, developing cooperation to respond to overseas humanitarian crises, and raising interest in the Republic of Korea on policy and legal issues related to humanitarian action.
