The Movement Cooperation Officer contributes to developing and implementing the delegation’s objectives for cooperation with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (the Movement) in line with the ICRC’s priorities in consultation with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). Specifically, s/he contributes in the designing, planning and implementing PRC activities in promoting the basics of International Humanitarian Law, proper use of the Emblem, the dissemination of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's mandate and its Fundamental Principles. S/he contributes to building positive relationships and strong cooperation between the ICRC and the Movement components in the Philippines, specifically in its dissemination program.

Main responsibilities

Contributes in designing, planning and implementing activities that promote the basics of international humanitarian law, the proper use of the Emblem, the understanding of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's mandate and its Fundamental Principles, specifically but not limited to:

  • supporting the development of standard dissemination tools, including uniform key messaging adapted to specific target audiences, standard presentation templates, inclusion of scenario-based applications;
  • providing technical support in the conduct of trainings, particularly in enhancing external communication skills of disseminators and their capacity to connect with various stakeholders and strengthening of technical knowledge of PRC mandate and Movement-related concepts
  • supporting in developing visibility guidelines to strengthen PRC branding and identity to serve as reference for the services and chapters;
  • developing environmental scanning guidelines to help chapters gather relevant information relevant to their response and operations, their security and access, as well as their perception and acceptance; and 
  • relating the relevant contribution of dissemination to the overall PRC operations and translate it to internal policies.
     

Required profile

  • University degree, preferably in social sciences or other relevant fields
  • At least 5 years work experience in a field relevant to Movement Cooperation or any other Movement Component (National Society and/or International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
  • Strong background on disseminating the basics of International Humanitarian Law, Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's mandate, emblem, and its Fundamental Principles
  • Knowledge of PRC services and operations
  • Proven program management skills and team building competencies
    Good command of written and spoken English, Filipino, and other dialects is an advantage.
