The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation in the Pacific has a job opening for the position of Administration Assistant - Cooperation.


The ICRC is an impartial, neutral and independent organisation with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. The ICRC Regional Delegation in the Pacific is based in Suva and has sub-sites in Australia and Papua New Guinea.


The role will  provide financial and administrative support to the Movement Cooperation team in ensuring the ICRC’s continued financial and administrative support to Pacific Islands National Societies (PINS), particularly for the verification and processing of PINS financial reports/acquittals. The role will involve a combination of financial management and administrative duties. The ICRC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated candidate for this position for a duration of six (6) months, with a possibility of extension, based in Suva. This position is open to Fiji Nationals.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the verification of PINS financial reports/acquittals.
  • In line with the verification of financial reports/acquittals, input financial data into the necessary formats/templates for ease of reference.
  • Where needed, provide a list of identified queries/issues within financial reports/acquittals verified for follow-up by the Movement Cooperation team.
  • Help to identify outstanding/repetitive acquittal issues from PINS for incorporation into capacity building considerations for national societies.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing and the preparation of financial report/acquittal copies for the ICRC and PINS.
  • Assist in the delivery/return of PINS financial reports/acquittals via post/freight.
  • Perform all other duties/tasks as and when assigned.


REQUIREMENTS 

  • Vocational/Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience 
  • Computer proficiency 
  • Financial administration capacity 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Be able to start immediately would be an added advantage.
