The ICRC Delegation in Bogotá is recruiting experienced, highly motivated and qualified staff for the following positions:

 logistician 2 (Support national level)

(Resident position)

Purpose

The Logistics 2 provides support and oversight for all logistics activities in Colombia and provides support/advice to the offices and sub-delegations. Ensures that logistics systems are in place and provides technical and operational support in accordance with ICRC logistics standards. Assists sub-delegations and offices in planning and implementing procedures and rules throughout Colombia to ensure efficient use of resources in the country. Supervises and coaches logistics staff in the field and liaises with the Bogota specialist on issues arising from structures. Replaces field staff when required due to holidays or other absences.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Be the pillar and focal point of logistics in the field.
  • Supervises and mediates the activities of the logistics
  • Supervises offices to have an efficient supply chain within the country and adapt infrastructure and assets to meet needs.
  • Maintains and ensures the proper use of general and specialized logistics IT tools, including monitoring the integrity of transaction data.
  • Updates, maintains and shares operational concepts and oversees statistical reporting, queries and inventories with offices and sub-delegations.
  • Ensures that partnerships involving logistics activities comply with the ICRC framework.
  • Assists in the preparation of the CDP (Collaborative Demand Planning).
  • Oversees the tracking of stocks every 3-4 months to ensure rotation and avoid dead stock at the office level.
  • Assists in the selection processes, surveys and interviews of office logisticians.
  • Third in command on the organization chart of the Logistics Department in the Delegation.
  • Together with the Deputy Logistics Coordinator, analyses the topics for the preparation of the annual logistics meeting and the drafting of the minutes.
  • Supports activities with logistics staff in the offices/SD in Colombia and ensures that recommendations are implemented.
  • Be aware of the ICRC's activities at national level in order to provide effective support.
  • Supervises logistical and financial procedures.

Minimum requirements and required skills

  • Professional in business administration, sciences economics or another field combined with work experience in Logistician.
  • Master in management of Logistics computer tools is an asset.
  • Minimum 6 years experience, preferably in commercial or humanitarian Logistics.
  • ICRC field experience an asset.
  • Experience managing a small to medium-sized team.
  • Knowledge of JDE Systems, good use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other digital platforms (MS SharePoint).
  • Experience in stock management, purchasing, fleet among other activities related to Logistics.
  • Minimum B2 Level in English.
  • If you do not have Colombian nationality, you must be legally authorized to work in Colombia (work permit, residence or legal status), since the organization does not process visas.
